USMC Toys for Tots Foundation

Toys for Tots is the Marine Corps’ premier community action program and one of the nation’s flagship charitable endeavors. Since 1947, Marines have been the unchallenged leaders in looking after less fortunate children at Christmas. Going into our 70th year, we have seen how our message of hope for the future motivates youngsters to grow into responsible, productive and patriotic citizens.

Each year millions of families living in poverty within the U.S. do not have the means to provide their children Christmas gifts. However, due to the tremendous loyalty of our supporters, Toys for Tots is able to deliver a tangible sign of hope by providing gifts to these children so that they may share in the wonders of Christmas. Last year, we fulfilled the Christmas holiday dreams of nearly 7 million of our nations less fortunate children. The Toys for Tots Literacy Program, which makes reading materials available with the aim of improving literacy rates, distributed over 3 million books to less fortunate children and schools.

The unique combination of holiday giving and patriotic symbolism make Toys for Tots one of the most popular charities during the holiday season.
