Comments on the Military and Business Ownership
My military career afforded me the opportunity and means to handle tasks entrusted to me, and to take responsibility for successes and failures. I didn't know what it was to supervise anyone other than my children. Therefore, as I obtained rank, I also obtained more responsibilities, to include personnel. Learning how to deal with individuals' idiosyncrasies and attitudes exposed me to so much. Those skills and characteristics I honed then, are what I use now as a business owner today.
