Flag City Honor Flight is a hub of the National Honor Flight Network, serving Veterans of Findlay, Hancock County and surrounding areas. Each hub independently plans, raises funds and transports American Veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit their war memorials.
Flag City Honor Flight is a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization founded in 2010. The organization relies on volunteers to plan, develop, orchestrate, and implement the entire mission. Additionally, community members volunteer to become Guardians and accompany Veterans to the memorials in Washington, D.C. on Flight Day, thus ensuring a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience for the Veterans.
Flag City Honor Flight’s annual flight takes 80 or more Veterans to Washington at no cost to the Veterans. The organization relies on charitable funding to support the extensive logistics and expenses involved in creating this experience for these special honorees. Sponsorships and donations come from corporations and area businesses, schools, military groups, churches, and individuals. Generous capacity-building funding from the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation has provided the impetus for Flag City Honor Flight to focus on stabilizing its annual flight funding and creating an endowmen
