I was a Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic in the active Air Force for four years including a year in Vietnam. Then after a break in service I went active duty (literally) with the Wisconsin Air National Guard as a Jet Engine Mechanic (12 years), then Base Training Manager (2 yrs), then Retention Office Manager (paying student loans, cash bonuses, etc for 2 1/2 yrs), Then Recruiting Office Supervisor for 5 years and finally 5 years as the State Recruiting and Retention Superintendent.
