Second day in basic at Ft. Leonard Wood MO the Sargent marched us out into the woods with a gunny sack. We stopped and given orders to pick up the leaves (in October 1958) and fill the bags. Bring the bags back to the sarg he pushed the leaves down farther. Private do you hear me? I told you to fill the bag. You didn't fill it give me ten then fill it. Coming back it repeated, and repeated until the bag filled over. Bag dumped out, orders to fill it again. Follow orders, do it right first.
